Generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT have been penetrating younger generations in recent years, and there is an urgent need for educational institutions in each country to act on how to use these technologies responsibly. In the Asia-Pacific region, where student exchanges are thriving, language barriers have limited the direct information available to each other, and the efforts to maintain academic integrity in higher education institutions have not been easily shared. Therefore, Clarivate brought together analysts with ties to the region to conduct a cross-sectional survey of the target countries. The results revealed the following potential issues in the region: (1) the uniqueness of generative AI policies, (2) the influence of national policies on research activities, and (3) the standardization of research ethics education. In this seminar, we will explain and discuss each of these issues. Join us for this informative session.
