Description of the book :
This book is aimed at sharing our experiences and research activities at the Institute of Climate Adaptation and Marine Biotechnology (ICAMB), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Through targeted sampling of our natural biodiversity, intensive laboratory and rigorous statistical analyses we share a glimpse of the vast potential of our biological resources in supporting our wellbeing, from food security to health. Unfortunately, our biological resources are negatively impacted by severe anthropogenic and climatic disturbances. Here, we also introduce basic molecular concepts in population genetics and molecular taxonomy (DNA Barcoding) that are critical knowledge in addressing some of these challenges to ensure the survival of these resources.
